I made a longer post about this idea just above you, but short version: No matter how difficult or convoluted the path may be, in the end, we have one choice in how we respond to tragedy: Let it wound you, or let it teach you.

It always always always boils down to that. Either we shake our heads and say "man, that George Floyd thing sucked," or we can let it awaken something good in us, an impatience for cruelty and injustice.

It's not that we needed an innocent man to die to become better people. It's that things like this are going to happen anyway until we stop them, and Floyd's death was a useful catalyst for a movement I have no doubt he would support, were he alive today.
