I dunno, I’ve heard some pretty terrible excuses for giving horses racist names in my day.

“He chose it himself.”

“My horse is terrible at racing so I gave her a racist name to make the crowd happy when she lost.”

“Look, I don’t like it either, but I watched Mississippi Burning with her and she seemed to get really excited in certain scenes.”

“I named him after my late mother, NINA.”

“Well what would YOU name a horse?”
